President’s Message – February

I hope your year is off to a great start! January was an exciting month for our chapter, and I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible engagement we’ve already seen in 2025. Our January Lunch Meeting, featuring Jamie Valvano, set the tone for the year by reminding us of the power of resilience, leadership, and purpose. Jamie’s message was inspiring and was well received by all in attendance.

If you follow our LinkedIn, you may have seen a post highlighting the great work our chapter has done at The Ronald McDonald House. Last year we sponsored a room at the RMH to help offset the cost of providing a place to stay for families in town receiving medical care. The room that our chapter sponsored hosted 24 families last year with a total of 226-night stays. I am proud to be part of an organization working to make such a big impact on our local community.

As we move into February, we have a great lineup of events to keep the momentum going:

Committee Thank You Event – February 6
We’re kicking off the month by celebrating our dedicated committee volunteers at Jaguar Bolera at Raleigh Iron Works. This is a small way to show our appreciation for all the hard work that makes our chapter thrive. We were lucky to add 10 new members to our chapter in the month of January, primarily due to the great work that our committees put into each facet of our organization. If you serve on a committee, we look forward to recognizing you and enjoying a fun evening together!

February Lunch Meeting – Featuring Debra Mathias
Join us for our next lunch meeting as we welcome Debra Mathias, a LinkedIn expert who will share strategies on optimizing your LinkedIn presence. Whether you’re looking to expand your network, enhance your personal brand, or generate new business, this session will provide valuable insights. Don’t miss it!

IFMA Summit & Gala – March 6-7 in Charlotte
Looking ahead, we’re excited about the upcoming IFMA Summit & Gala in Charlotte. This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with facility management professionals from across the region, gain industry insights, and celebrate achievements within our profession. We hope to see many of you there!

As always, I want to thank each of you for your ongoing collaboration and dedication to our chapter. Your involvement, whether through attending events, volunteering, or sharing your expertise, is what makes this organization so beneficial to all of us. Let’s continue building a strong, supportive community that fosters both professional and personal growth.

Looking forward to seeing you all soon!
