The best way to get the most out of your membership is by participating in one of our enthusiastic committees. Whether you only have an extra hour a month or are looking to develop your professional skills with a large initiative, you will find an opportunity that fits with your interests and schedule. Committees
Membership and Young Professionals
Meets the last Wednesday of each month at 3:00, virtually
The Membership Committee focuses on growing our chapter by striving to meet our members' needs and expectations. From staffing the check-in desk at events to developing new strategies to excite and engage our membership, we are the dynamic face of the chapter and always eager to welcome new committee members.
Young Professionals (YP), a subcommittee of Membership, is a community of young professionals (35 years old and younger) that assist others in the same stage of life/career. We communicate, engage, create value and opportunities for young professionals globally inside IFMA. We also mentor the Chapter’s scholarship winners. Anyone joining IFMA-GTC who is under 35 will automatically be part of this subcommittee.
Professional Development
Meets the 3rd Thursday of each month at 3:30, in person or virtually
The mission of the IFMA Triangle Chapters Professional Development Program is to improve and sustain the professional growth of its members through planned learning opportunities. We coordinate scholarship programs, coordinate the Mentorship Program, and develop continuing education and certification programs.
Programs
Meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 3:30 in person
The Programs Committee develops and plans the monthly educational and motivational meeting topics and speakers. We meet to brainstorm current events, new practices and interesting ideas to provide fresh topics for our membership.
Networking and Events
Meets the 1st Wednesday of each month at 3:00 at Bond Brothers in Cary
We plan events for our Chapter to show our appreciation for the Membership. We also create networking opportunities for our Associate and Professional members to share experiences in their fields and form relationships. We plan building tours & socials, and coordinate facility and food logistics for all in-person events including the Board retreat, breakfast events, lunch meetings, coffee & credentials, and other special events. We have YP Happy Hours! This committee creates a community of young professionals (35 years old and younger) and assists others in the same stage of life/career. We also mentor the Chapter’s scholarship winners. Anyone joining IFMA-GTC who is under 35 will automatically be part of this committee.
Community Outreach
Meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 3:00 at Rally Point
We find opportunities to serve our community’s needs that will offer exposure to the IFMA organization and enable our members to give back to the community by sharing skills, knowledge, training and volunteering time. We coordinate events for the Boys and Girls Clubs, Toys for Tots, Ronald McDonald House, and many more!
Golf
Meets on an ad hoc basis close to the golf tournament in the spring
This group organizes the annual Mike Bradley Memorial IFMA Foundation Golf Tournament; one of the highlights of our year and an excellent opportunity to spend a spring day surrounded by the Greater Triangle Chapter’s finest.
Communications
Meets the 1st Thursday of each month at 9:00, virtually
The communications committee helps to coordinate all communication and graphic design for the chapter. We ensure chapter updates, upcoming events and news are effectively communicated to the chapter. Our committee oversees the newsletter, social media, website and marketing materials. We develop surveys, LinkedIn posts, and other messages to engage our members.
Young Professionals

We have YP Happy Hours! This committee creates a community of young professionals (35 years old and younger) and assists others in the same stage of life/career. We also mentor the Chapter’s scholarship winners. Anyone joining IFMA-GTC who is under 35 will automatically be part of this committee.
Sponsorship
Meets on an ad hoc basis, in person or virtually
The sponsorship committee partners with associate members and area vendors to identify opportunities for engagement with IFMA-GTC members, whether on an annual sponsorship basis, or for specific events throughout the year. If you have local connections and love networking with local vendors, this committee is for you!
Veterans
Meets on an ad hoc basis, in person and virtually
Our newest committee! We shape and influence programs directed by and for Veterans in FM from all branches of service, whether active, reserve, or separated. Our mission is to empower veterans transitioning into civilian careers by introducing them to facility management as a rewarding and compatible profession, while providing mentorship, resources, and opportunities to succeed.
