Kicking Off Summer with Momentum and Community
Hello IFMA Greater Triangle Chapter,
Summer is almost officiallyhere! As the days get longer and the heat rolls into the Triangle, things are just warming up for our chapter. Looking back at the incredible momentum we generated in May and looking ahead to our upcoming summer calendar, I am thrilled by the energy, dedication and growth defining our community right now.
Reflecting on a Spectacular May
We kicked off mid-May with an outstanding celebration for World FM Day at Lonnie Poole. It was a fantastic afternoon dedicated to the “behind-the-scenes heroes” of our built environments. Guest speaker Tieska Jumbo delivered a brilliant, collaborative workshop on shifting from operations to opportunity, giving us all actionable strategies to eleate our everyday skills. We wrapped up the day by honoring our incredible partners during the Annual Sponsor Social. Later in the month, we took the networking on the road to Casita Brewing for our latest Four Corners Social, bringing together facility managers, property managers, and service partners from across the broader region in a relaxed setting.
Behind the Scenes: The 2026 Board Retreat
Your IFMA-GTC Board of Directors gathered for our annual Board Retreat in early May. This wasn’t just an excuse to escape the office; it was a high energy, highly collaborative session where we got to know each other better, aligned our visions, and mapped out a robust strategic plan for the year ahead. We focuses heavily on how we can deliver even more value, top-tier educational programming, and hyper-local resources to our members. I emerged from the retreat incredibly proud of this leadership team nad more excited than ever for the future of our chapter.

June 10th Monthly Meeting – Join us at Prestonwood Country Club for a crucial panel discussion on Hurricane Preparedness. As summer storm season begins, you’ll walk away with tangible, actionable takeaways to protect your facilities and teams.
July 8th Monthly Meeting – Head back to Prestonwood as we officially swear-in our 2026-2027 Board Members and host an open house for our committees. It’s the perfect time to find out how you can lend your talents for just an hour a month of jump into a larger initiative!
August 12th Month Meeting – The Strategic Advantage: Hiring Those Who’ve Served – Join us for a panel at Prestonwood to learn why veteran talent is a competitive edge – and how your organization can tap into it!
August 19th FM Only Social – Best the late-summer heat and catch up with your peers at the Tobacco Road Sports Cafe in Durham for an evening dedicated strickly to our FM professionals.
