Scholarships

Throughout the year the Greater Triangle Chapter awards scholarships to assist in the further education of their members. These scholarships are available to all active members (professional and associates). They include registration, and may include airfare and hotel when applicable.

  • IFMA Foundation Scholarship:
    • Each year the GTC of IFMA holds the Mike Bradley Memorial IFMA Foundation Golf Tournament. The proceeds from this tournament are used for a scholarship for the IFMA Foundation. A few years ago the scholarship was named for Buck Fisher for his commitment to the Greater Triangle Chapter, the Foundation and the Golf event throughout the years. The scholarship is awarded at World Workplace to a student chosen by the Chapter after applying through the Foundation, meeting several criteria and a vigorous judging program. The Greater Triangle Chapter is the largest benefactor chapter wise to the Foundation.

Scholarship Application Requirements

Purpose
To provide support for on-going professional development activities of chapter members.

Eligibility
Members who have completed at least twelve (12) months of continuous membership in the Triangle Chapter of IFMA. Members must be active within a committee or working on an assigned project for a minimum of one (1) year. Members are only eligible once every two (2) years.

For Certification Scholarships, you must also meet the following: Must meet all IFMA criteria for the certification being pursued. Certification should be completed within 1 year of receiving the award. Request that you would be willing to provide a testimonial about your certification journey and achievements. The scholarship is for most of the certification cost ($1000), the recipient is required to pay the rest of the fee.

Approval Procedures
Approval of all scholarships are contingent upon the availability of funds. Members must explain how they are involved in the Chapter and how this scholarship will serve them and our Chapter. The Professional Development committee will review for eligibility and scoring. Scoring is based on Chapter involvement and educational purpose. The final list of candidates are forwarded to the Chapter Board for review and final approval.
