Facility Management is a profession that encompasses multiple disciplines to ensure functionality of the built environment by integrating people, place, process, and technology.
The Greater Triangle Chapter of IFMA’s has evolved over the years since the chapter’s revitalization in the late 1990’s. It has become a consistent and reliable news source designed to educate and communicate with our chapter members and local facilities professionals. The Greater Triangle Chapter strives to educate and engage Facilities Professionals around the triangle by providing relevant educational meetings and peer networking opportunities. improve communication standards as part of our overall Strategic Planning process.
Through the dedication and commitment of volunteers, we strive to help keep our members educated, and informed in regards to the changing FM profession. Please join us for one of our meetings or tours to see what we are all about.

August President’s Message: Beating the Summer Heat with Hot Events!
Hey IFMA-GTC Family,
I hope you’re all managing to stay cool and hydrated out there! This summer heat has been no joke, but even with the mercury rising, our IFMA-GTC calendar is still heating up with some fantastic events you won’t want to miss. Our July “Meet the Committees” event was a fantastic success. Check out the pictures if you missed it, and please consider joining one of our many committees that would love to welcome your talents and enthusiasm for supporting FM!
Here is a list of when & where our committees meet:
- Communications: 1st Thursday of each month at 9:00 – Virtual
- Community Outreach: 2ndTuesday of each month at 3:00 at Rally Point – In person & virtual
- Golf: Ad hoc near the golf tournament date
- Membership: Last Wednesday of each month at 3:00 – In person & virtual, location varies
- Networking & Events: 1st Wednesday of each month at 3:00 – In person at Bond Brothers – 202 East Cedar St, Cary
- Professional Development: 3rd Thursday of each month at 3:30 – In person at Bond Brothers 202 East Cedar St, Cary
- Programs: 3rd Wednesday of each month in person at 3:30 – In person or Virtual
- Sponsorship: Ad hoc
- Young Professionals: Ad hoc
- Veterans: New Committee, time TBD
What’s Brewing This August & Beyond?
First up, mark your calendars for August 13th. We’re hosting an HVAC Panel at Prestonwood. We’ve got some great folks confirmed representing our local HVAC pros, so bring your questions and learn some best practices for HVAC systems.
As we glide into September, get ready for:
- September 10th – Spark Life Science Tour: The date is locked in for this exciting tour, and we’re scouting for a cool social spot to gather after the tour – stay tuned!
- September 11th – Boys & Girls Club Resource Career Fair: We’re proud to partner with the Boys & Girls Club for a Resource Career Fair from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Teen Center. This is a great chance to discuss internships or part-time job opportunities with local youth. Keep an eye out for a flyer with more info or register here.
- September 25th – Joint Networking Event HUB RTP. Sponsored by CORENET
