February 2023 President’s Message

With the 2023 year underway, we have had a lot of activity with the Chapter.  As mentioned last month, we have the next 4-5 months planned out for Chapter meetings and events. Well done Programs Committee!

As a reminder on Wednesday February 8th, we have Ron Staley speaking on Adaptive Reuse – Lessons Learned in the Economic Reuse of Historic Buildings; followed up on Thursday, February 9th with our Committee Member Appreciation Event at Graffiti Axe Throwing from 4-6PM.  Also, registration is OPEN for the 4th Annual IFMA Carolina’s Summit and Gala, https://www.ifmacharlotte.com/summit-and-gala/.  This is going to be a great event, and we hope to see our Chapter well represented in Charlotte.  Please see the list of upcoming Chapter events and dates below:

February 8 – Monthly Meeting

February 9 – Committee Member Appreciation Event at Graffiti Axe Throwing

March 9-10 – IFMA Carolinas Summit and Gala

March 16 – March Madness Event at Rally Point

April 26 – Mike Bradley Memorial IFMA Foundation Golf Tournament at Lochmere

May 17 – World FM Day

We have awarded the IFMA National SFP Giveaway to Erin Duncan with SECU.  Congratulations Erin! We are happy to be able to give this opportunity to a Chapter Member and assist in providing valuable FM credentials.  Thank you to the Professional Development Committee for assisting with this opportunity.

For all the sports fans out there, this is the time of year when things start to get a little busy. The college football playoffs concluded the second week of January.  We are in the thick of the NFL playoffs with the NFC and AFC Championship games on the line this weekend; who will be going to go to the Super Bowl? College basketball is heating up and next month we will be in the middle of March Madness, which to me is one of the best times of the year. This is where I will plug the March 16th event at Rally Point with more details to follow soon. If you haven’t attended this event in the past, it is awesome and for a great cause.

Hope to see you soon!
