July 2022 President’s Message
As I look back over the past two years and see how our lives have changed and more specifically how the GTC of IFMA has changed, I am truly amazed at the resilience and commitment that our chapter has shown. We have gone from all virtual meetings, to limited capacity meetings, to breakfast and lunch meetings, to outdoor afternoon socials. Our goal has and always will be to keep everyone engaged and to provide a valued resource to our members. The idea of providing different ways to engage you is how we achieve that goal.
As we begin the 2022-23 Board year, we have returned to a more normal, pre-pandemic way of life. We just held our 3rd Annual Education Summit and Awards Gala at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro and are planning for IFMA World Workplace in Nashville this September. Outside of our monthly chapter events, these are two examples where GTC of IFMA members experience educational and professional development opportunities. Our monthly attendance numbers are steadily increasing for both Professional and Associate members. This reflects that our chapter is strong and excited for the future.
The Board and Committee Chairs are excited for the upcoming year. During our annual Board planning retreat this Spring, I asked everyone to think about why they are a member of The Greater Triangle Chapter of IFMA. I know my “why”; what is yours? We hope to see you on Wednesday, July 20th from 11:30a – 1:00p at Prestonwood Country Club for the swearing in of the 2022-23 Board to learn more about our 2022-23 goals and to share my “why” with you.
