Presidents Message

 Fall has always been my favorite time of year!  Maybe it’s because I was born in the fall, the cooler weather, my love of football or all things pumpkin, but I just love this time of year (other than budgets being due of course)!  Fall, October in particular, is a time to reflect on the year that is almost over before the holidays are upon us, and to plan for the year to come.

Looking back on this year, there have been many ups and downs, as most years hold, from the loss of our dear friend Mike Bradley to the birth of so many babies, it’s hard to keep track!  It’s been a whirlwind of a year, that’s for sure.

For IFMA, October will hold our Operations Update Meeting, a time for us as a Board and Chapter to look back on our year so far and ensure we are on track to finish up the calendar year and fiscal year strong and to answer any questions our membership may have about how the Chapter is run.   Also, in October, our Sponsorship levels will be updated on the website and newsletter and our new banners will be completed.  We are planning for our Chapter Appreciation in November, some very exciting monthly meetings in the winter, our Mega-Networking event in February and a Professional Member only event in March followed by an Annual Sponsor social.  We continue to focus on our “Celebrating the Facility Management Professional Campaign” and we look forward to hearing from you after the Operations Update with any questions or concerns you have regarding how things are run, what you’d like to see and any issues you may be encountering with your membership.

Keep an eye out for a call for nominations for Professional Member of the Year, Associate Member of the Year, Committee Member of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Sponsor of the Year.  These awards are given out at our Chapter Appreciation event and are key in recognizing our hard working volunteers and future chapter leadership.
